Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - The New Jersey Devils placed goaltender Martin Brodeur on injured reserve Tuesday, retroactive to Feb. 24.

Brodeur was forced to miss Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets after experiencing lower-body tightness during warmups.

The 40-year-old has defied the advance of age this season, going 8-2-3 with a 2.27 goals-against average and one shutout with a .911 save percentage in 13 appearances.

New Jersey recalled goaltender Keith Kinkaid from Albany of the American Hockey League. The 23-year-old backstop has gone 17-11-5 with a 2.69 GAA thus far this year.
