Running back Edgerrin James was released outright by the Seahawks Tuesday.

Head coach Jim Mora Jr. reportedly ripped into his team following the team's 38-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys this past Sunday and chose words that intimated changes could be on the horizon for 2-5 Seattle.

Cornerback Travis Fisher, who had five tackles in four games this season, was released Monday -- joined by James and safety C.J. Wallace a day later. Wallace made three stops in five games prior to his release Tuesday.

James signed a one-year deal in August to serve as the backup to Julius Jones. The 31-year-old gained just 125 yards on 46 rushes over seven games this season. He also had three catches for 19 yards and lost a fumble.

His release comes after the 11-year pro rushed for just 514 yards and three touchdowns on 133 carries while adding 12 receptions for 85 yards in a reduced role last season for the NFC champion Cardinals.

The Miami-Florida product now has 12,246 rushing yards for his career and surpassed Marcus Allen for 10th on the all-time list this past Sunday

To fill the spots on Seattle's active roster, safety Jamar Adams, wide receiver Mike Hass and cornerback Roy Lewis were promoted from the practice squad. In corresponding moves, running back Devin Moore and cornerbacks Trae Williams and DeAngelo Willingham were signed to the practice squad.
