Alameda, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Raiders placed veteran defensive tackle Richard Seymour on injured reserve Thursday, three days prior to the team's regular-season finale at San Diego.

Seymour has not played since Nov. 4 due to a lingering hamstring issue that has caused him to miss the last seven games, and was not expected to be active for Sunday's matchup with the Chargers.

The 33-year-old concludes his 12th NFL campaign with 15 tackles and three sacks over eight starts. Seymour earned a seventh career Pro Bowl nod in 2011 after amassing six sacks and 29 tackles while appearing in all 16 contests.

Seymour, acquired by Oakland from the New England Patriots prior to the 2009 season in exchange for a 2011 first-round pick, is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March.
