Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Nash sat out Friday's 105-95 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers due to a lower left leg contusion.

Nash suffered the injury during Wednesday's 116-106 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers after colliding with rookie Damian Lillard in the second quarter.

The two-time MVP returned for the start of third quarter, but left the game again just over a minute later and did not return.

He will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis.

Nash has averaged 4.5 points and 4.0 assists over two games.

Steve Blake started in Nash's place and had eight points, as the Lakers fell to 0-3 for the first time since the 1978-79 season.
