Recap: Boston vs. Baltimore
Fort Myers, FL (Sports Network) - Pedro Ciriaco hit a go-ahead RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday, lifting the Boston Red Sox to a 5-4 victory over Baltimore in spring training.
Ciriaco's hit came after Baltimore tied the game at 4-4 with two runs apiece in the fifth and sixth innings.
Michael Bowden replaced Clayton Mortensen (1-0) with a runner on base in the eighth and pitched 1 2/3 perfect innings to lock down the win. Daniel Bard struck out two and walked one in a two-inning start and Ryan Lavarnway had two RBI for the Red Sox.
Xavier Avery singled home two runs in the fifth and Wilson Betemit smacked a two-run double in the sixth for the Orioles. Starter Dana Eveland gave up a run on two hits in two innings for Baltimore.
