Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Josh Johnson underwent arthroscopic surgery to remove loose bodies and a bone spur in his pitching elbow on Tuesday.

According to the Blue Jays Twitter feed, the surgery, performed by Dr. James Andrews, went well and the right-hander is expected to be ready for spring training.

Johnson finished the 2013 on the disabled list due to a right forearm strain. He finished a disappointing season with a 2-8 record and a 6.20 ERA in 16 starts.
