A's agree to terms with Kottaras

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Athletics agreed to terms with catcher George Kottaras on a one-year contract for the 2013 season on Monday.

Kottaras was acquired from Milwaukee on July 29 of last season and batted .212 with six home runs and 19 RBI in 27 games with the A's. He had a .211 average in 85 games overall.

The 29-year-old left-handed hitter has played in 249 career games with the Red Sox, Brewers and Athletics, batting .220 with 24 homers and 84 RBI.
