Kyle Crutchmer leaves Tulsa for California, MMA dream

  • Former Oklahoma State Cowboys All-American wrestler Kyle Crutchmer moved to California on Sunday to become an MMA fighter
  • Crutchmer, who graduated from Union High School, has an opportunity to train at AKA gym in San Jose, CA, thanks for former OSU wrestler turned MMA champ Daniel “DC” Cormier
  •  Although he is not a professional MMA fighter yet, Crutchmer has signed with an agent
  •  After earning a scholarship to wrestle for Oklahoma State, Crutchmer nearly lost his spot on the team and could have gone to jail after an altercation on the road where he punched a man’s car and said he would kill the man, who he knew, if he got out of the car. Crutchmer received two misdemeanors and was made to serve a year and a half of community service
  • At Oklahoma State, Crutchmer was a Big 12 champion twice, earned All-American honors twice and was ranked #1 in the nation at his weight class for part of his junior season
