Recap: Cleveland State vs. Ill-Chicago

Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Trey Lewis scored 18 points as the Cleveland State Vikings completed a 73-53 rout of the Illinois-Chicago Flames in Horizon League action at the Wolstein Center.

Lewis connected on 7-of-9 attempts from the field including 4-of-5 from 3- point range to lead the Vikings (18-9, 9-3 HL) to their seventh win in a row. Jon Harris tallied 15 points, nine rebounds and three blocks while Bryn Forbes also netted 15 points. Anton Grady contributed 12 points and Charlie Lee handed out seven of Cleveland State's 17 assists.

Hayden Humes led UIC (5-20, 0-11) with 13 points off the bench and Kelsey Barlow went 3-of-6 from the field en route to 12 points. Will Simonton grabbed a team-high seven boards, but it was not nearly enough to prevent the Flames from enduring their 14th consecutive loss.

The Vikings outscored UIC, 16-8, in the paint and also, 8-2, in points off of turnovers in the opening period. The Flames went into the intermission trailing, 30-25, after they were limited to 34.6 percent shooting from the floor in the first half.

CSU dominated after the break as it knocked down 51.5 percent of its field goal tries including 6-of-13 from behind the 3-point line. UIC was outrebounded, 21-15, and connected on only 36.4 percent of its shots from the floor over the final 20 minutes of the tilt.

The Vikings have won 14 of their last 15 games versus UIC. CSU converted the Flames' 11 turnovers into 15 points and did not allow a single fast break point.
