Recap: San Francisco vs. Sonoma State

San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Cole Dickerson tallied a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds as the San Francisco Dons dismissed the Sonoma State Seawolves, 96-73, to open up the Golden Gate Challenge at War Memorial Stadium.

Dickerson did his damage on 8-of-10 field goal shooting for USF (4-3). Tim Derksen scored 19 points and was also red-hot from the floor (7-of-8). Matt Glover netted 16 points, and Kruize Pinkins added 12 points off the bench for the host squad.

For Sonoma State (1-2), Brandon Glanz led the way with 11 points, while James Davis and Zen Maki chipped in 10 points apiece.

The Dons ran out to a commanding 48-29 lead at intermission behind an outstanding first-half field goal percentage (.593). The Seawolves shot a modest 40 percent in the opening stanza and committed 11 turnovers.

USF's advantage never dipped below 12 points in the second half as it continued to shoot well from the field (.500).

The Dons converted 30-of-42 free-throw attempts on the evening and outscored Sonoma State in the paint, 42-32.
