Recap: Delaware vs. William & Mary

Newark, DE (SportsNetwork.com) - Devon Saddler had a game-high 26 points to lead the Delaware Blue Hens past the William & Mary Tribe, 76-71, in a Colonial Athletic Association contest at the Bob Carpenter Center.

Davon Usher scored 21 on 5-of-8 from 3-point range for Delaware (11-7, 3-0 CAA), which has won five straight games. Jarvis Threatt added 15 points and six assists, while Carl Baptiste brought down eight boards.

Tim Rusthoven scored 13 points for the Tribe (9-6, 1-1). Brandon Britt tallied 12 points, while Terry Tarpey registered a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Marcus Thornton and Omar Prewitt each had 10 points as well.

The Tribe drained 61.5 percent of their shots from the field in the first half, as they took a 38-32 lead into the half. Delaware made just 38.7 percent of its field goal tries, including 4-of-14 from 3-point range.

The Blue Hens came out hot in the second period, as they made 53.8 percent of their field goal attempts, including 5-of-11 from beyond the arc. W&M struggled and only converted on 32.3 percent of its shots from the field. With 9:29 left, Usher hit a 3-pointer to put Delaware up by two. The Blue Hens led from that point on.

Despite the setback, the Tribe's bench outscored the Blue Hens' reserves, 26-9.
