Recap: Eastern Mich vs. Ball State
Ypsilanti, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Darrell Combs and Raven Lee scored 12 points each as the Eastern Michigan Eagles coasted to a 72-58 decision over the Ball State Cardinals in a Mid-American Conference matchup at the Convocation Center.
Mike Talley added 10 points for the Eagles (18-12, 10-7 MAC), while Glenn Bryant and Daylen Harrison netted nine points apiece. Bryant also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds to help EMU notch its third win in a row.
Ball State (5-23, 2-15) came up short despite a strong showing from Majok Majok, who registered a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Chris Bond chipped in 11 points in the losing effort.
EMU took a 31-25 lead into the intermission after it shot 37.1 percent from the floor in the first half. The Cardinals were limited to 1-of-9 efficiency from 3-point range in the opening period.
Ball State's was unable to rally back after the break as it was held to just 36 percent shooting from the floor and missed nine of its 22 free-throw attempts. The Eagles knocked down 44.8 percent of their field goal attempts in the second stanza to pull away for the double-digit victory.
The Cardinals finished the contest with just five assists against 18 turnovers. EMU tallied 20 points off of turnovers and outscored Ball State, 40-26, in the paint.Game Notes
