Recap: Missouri State vs. Tulsa

Springfield, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Dorrian Williams scored 20 points off the bench as the Missouri State Bears held on for a 96-93 victory over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in a non-conference clash at JQH Arena.

Jarmar Gulley finished with 15 points, Keith Pickens netted 13 and Marcus Marshall had 12 points to go with six assists for Missouri State (2-0).

Shaquille Harrison notched a game-high 21 points, Rashad Smith tacked on 19 and D'Andre Wright contributed 11 off the bench for Tulsa (0-2).

Tulsa went 13-of-32 from the floor and 14-of-16 at the free-throw line in the first 20 minutes to take a 43-39 lead at halftime. Missouri State hit on just 42.3 percent from the field in the opening period.

After the break the Bears heated up to 57.1 percent shooting, including a 5- of-9 effort from beyond the arc to rally for the victory. The Golden Hurricane shot at a 59.3 percent clip in the frame but had deficits from 3-point range (15-6) and the charity stripe (20-16) they could not overcome.

Missouri State outscored Tulsa, 19-9, in second chance points. The Golden Hurricane had the edge in the paint, 42-36.
