Berkeley, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jahii Carson tallied 29 points and seven assists, as the Arizona State Sun Devils outlasted the California Golden Bears in overtime, 89-78, in a Pac-12 Conference bout at Haas Pavilion.

Carson shot 8-of-17 from the field and 12-of-16 at the free-throw line for ASU (16-5, 5-3 Pac-12), which has won three in a row. Jermaine Marshall netted 22 points for the visitors, while Shaquielle McKissic scored 12.

For Cal (14-7, 6-3), losers of three straight, Justin Cobbs put up 21 points and Tyrone Wallace had 20 points before fouling out. David Kravish posted 16 points and nine rebounds, while Richard Solomon contributed eight points, 13 rebounds and six assists.

Cal shot an impressive 48 percent from the field in the first half, but ASU was an even better 53.1 percent, as the Sun Devils carried a 42-30 lead into intermission.

ASU continued to hold a comfortable lead for most of the second half, including by 10 points with under seven minutes to play, but the Golden Bears would not go quietly, ripping off an 18-5 run to take a three-point lead with 25 seconds left following a pair of Kravish free throws. The Sun Devils answered on the other end with a Marshall 3-pointer to tie, and after Cobbs missed a jumper at the buzzer, the game went to overtime.

The Sun Devils made up for their collapse in regulation by dominating the extra session, using an 11-0 run to pull away.

ASU shot 9-of-19 from 3-point range on the night, while Cal was only 4-of-13 from long distance.
