Recap: Brown vs. Harvard

Providence, RI (SportsNetwork.com) - Steve Moundou-Missi (21 points, 11 rebounds) and Kyle Casey (16 points, 10 rebounds) each had double-doubles as the Harvard Crimson capped off the regular season with a 96-91 overtime win against the Brown Bears in Ivy League action at the Pizzitola Center.

Wesley Saunders finished with 19 points and Laurent Rivard tacked on 18 for Harvard (26-5, 13-1 Ivy League), which clinched its third straight Ivy League title on Friday with a 70-58 triumph over Yale.

Leland King paced Brown (15-13, 7-7) with 27 points. Sean McGonagill added 26 points, Steven Spieth chipped in 13 and Cedric Kuakumensah tallied 11 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.

A high-scoring first half ended with Harvard in front 50-44. The Crimson connected on 52.9 percent from the floor in the period, but had just a single 3-pointer. Brown only had 40.6 percent of its first half shots fall, but six of those came from beyond the arc.

The Bears got going in the second half when they sank 56 percent from the field. Harvard could not maintain its edge, shooting just 39.4 percent in the period.

Siyani Chambers drained a 3-pointer with 1:08 to play to push Harvard ahead 87-85 after it gave up its lead on a Tavon Blackmon free-throw. King answered with a jump shot on the other end and, after Chambers missed a potential game- winner, the contest went to overtime.

In the extra session Saunders hit a pair of free-throws and Rivard sank a 3- pointer with 37 seconds left, as part of a 5-0 spurt that broke an 89-89 tie and gave the Crimson enough of a cushion to pull out the win.
