Recap: Clemson vs. Temple

Charleston, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - K.J. McDaniels scored 20 points and Landry Nnoko recorded a double-double in leading the Clemson Tigers to a 72-58 victory over the Temple Owls in the opening round of the Charleston Classic at TD Arena.

McDaniels also had eight rebounds and seven blocks while Nnoko had tallied 15 rebounds to go with 10 points for Clemson (4-0). Jordan Roper added 14 points off the bench and Rod Hall chipped in 13 points and five assists. The Tigers will face Davidson in Friday night's semifinals.

Will Cummings netted 22 points and Quenton DeCosey finished with 15 for Temple (1-3), which has lost three-straight. The Owls will take on Georgia in the consolation bracket on Friday.

It was Temple that led, 34-31, at halftime. Both teams had only 11 field goals in the first 20 minutes but the Owls had slim advantages from beyond the arc (6-3) and the free-throw line (10-8) to hold the edge.

After the break the Tigers heated up to 51.7 percent shooting while Temple let the game slip away by connecting on only 24.2 percent of its second half field goal tries.

Clemson outscored Temple, 34-24, in the paint and owned a 45-36 edge on the boards. Temple had 10 points off turnovers to Clemson's five.
