Recap: U-A-B vs. Tulsa
Birmingham, AL (Sports Network) - Jordan Swing poured in 22 points to lift the UAB Blazers to a 68-64 win over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in Conference USA action at Bartow Arena.
Cameron Moore finished with 18 points and was a rebound short of a double-double for UAB (14-14, 9-6 C-USA) which has won four straight.
Jordan Clarkson netted 21 points, Eric McClellan added 14, Steven Idlet put in 13, and Kodi Maduka chipped in 10 for Tulsa (17-12, 10-5) which had won consecutive games entering play. D.J. Magley had a game-high 12 rebounds as well for the Golden Hurricane.
UAB led by a 32-24 margin at the half after shooting 37.0 percent from the floor including 5-of-11 from beyond the arc while Tulsa converted only 30.0 percent of its field goals and 1-of-5 from three point range in the first half.
The Blazers heated up to 58.3 percent in the second period but found themselves tied 64-64 with just under a minute to play. UAB then went 4-for-4 from the free throw line and the Golden Hurricanes couldn't get any of its four field goal attempts to fall in the final minute.
Despite the loss Tulsa was the superior team on the inside outscoring UAB 42-30 on points in the paint while holding a 45-33 edge on the boards.Game Notes
