Recap: Montana vs. Montana State
Missoula, MT (Sports Network) - Kareem Jamar registered a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds as he helped guide Montana to a 57-47 win over Montana State in Big Sky Conference play at Dahlberg Arena.
Jamar, who also handed out five assists, missed all four of his three-point tries and shot just 2-of-7 from the floor overall and 6-of-11 at the free- throw line, but still the Grizzlies (22-6, 14-1 Big Sky) were able to post their 11th straight win. Also scoring in double figures for the hosts were Art Steward with 14 points, Will Cherry 13 and Derek Selvig 11 points to go along with his eight boards.
The Bobcats (11-16, 6-9) were paced by Jeff Budinich who came off the bench to tally 11 points in 16 minutes as he converted 3-of-7 shots beyond the arc in the team's eight consecutive setback.
MSU shot just 8-of-25 from the floor in the first half, but because the Grizzlies struggled behind the three-point line in the period (1-of-6), the visitors were able to knot the score at 21-21 after 20 minutes of play.
In the second half the Bobcats again had their issues from the floor (.333), compared to Montana which converted 55.0 percent in order to claim the double- digit win.
The Grizzlies survived 15 turnovers and just 12-of-20 shooting at the charity stripe in order to capture the victory.Game Notes
