Steve Layman has happily been a part of the Fox 23 Sports team since October 2006. You can catch him in the studio anchoring Oklahoma's best each Saturday and Sunday or weekdays at a field or gym somewhere in Green Country. Born and raised in Illinois, Steve comes to Fox 23 from WDWS-AM in Champaign, Illinois where he served as a sports radio talk show host and play-by-play announcer on the Illini Sports Network. He began his television career as a sports intern at Fox 5 WTTG-TV in Washington D.C. Steve's work earned him four awards from the Illinois News Broadcasters Association for best sports reporting and outstanding play-by-play announcing. He graduated with honors in Broadcasting from the University of Illinois in May 2006. Outside of work, Steve enjoys church activities, working out, tennis, and basketball.
