Nathan Thompson joined the Fox23 sports team in June of 2007, but he’s been covering Oklahoma sports for nearly a decade and following it almost all of his life.

Nathan grew up in Oklahoma and went to high school in Bartlesville. After spending four great years at OSU in Stillwater, he went to Waco, Texas for his first job in the TV news business.

In 1999, Nathan switched from news to sports, getting a job at KSWO-TV in Lawton. For the next eight years, including four as sports director, he covered the Sooners and Cowboys, winning five Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters awards along the way.

Nathan’s been on the sideline for OU’s three most recent national championship games, and he has one thing to say about a job with perks like that, “it’s great work, if you can get it.”

Nathan enjoys following the Sooners and Cowboys across the country but also has just as much fun driving around Green Country reporting on area games and getting to know local athletes and coaches.

When he’s not working, Nathan likes spending time with his wife Sylvia, watching movies, and, when he gets a chance, playing golf and basketball.
