Carrie Netherton brings both journalism experience and knowledge of the state of Oklahoma to the Fox 23 News team. Carrie was hired as a general assignment reporter in August of 2004 and hunts down stories for Fox 23 News Daybreak.

Although it gets difficult waking up in the early morning hours, she enjoys telling people what they need to know in the day ahead.

Carrie grew up in Grove and still spends many weekends visiting with family and hanging out along Grand Lake. Her family moved to Perry, where she graduated from Perry High School with aspirations of becoming a television reporter.

Carrie graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a broadcast journalism degree.

Carrie started her journalism career as a general assignment reporter and back-up anchor for almost 4 years at KOAM-Channel 7 in Joplin, Missouri. She then headed north to Des Moines, Iowa where she worked for 3 years as a general assignment reporter and back-up anchor for WOI-Channel 5 and also worked for WHO-Channel 13. She is excited to be back in her home state with her family and friends!

Carrie's goal has always been to report the news in her home state. Journalism runs deep in Carrie's family. Her sister, Ginnie Graham, and uncle, John Klein, are both writers for The Tulsa World.

When Carrie is not reporting, she's most likely watching sports. She's a huge OU fan, especially in football, but she also cheers on the Cowboys and Golden Hurricanes! Carrie and her husband Dave often attend sporting events throughout Oklahoma - and surrounding states.
