• Tulsa city leaders consider new river development plan

TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa city leaders are considering a proposed plan for new business and development along the Arkansas River.

The River Design Overlay is a 12-mile plan along the river south downtown to south Tulsa the outlines three zones depending on their proximity to the river.

The plan sets guidelines for home builders and businesses and won’t allow places like gas stations, strip clubs or shooting ranges in the area.

QuikTrip is concerned because the plan wouldn’t allow for major renovation or replacement of their store at 96th and Riverside.

Public meetings about the proposition are planned for April 18th and 19th.
