UPDATE -- On Saturday Gov. Mary Fallin toured the fire damage in Harrah.

HARRAH, Okla. (AP) — Crews planned to continue monitoring hotspots in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area where wildfires destroyed at least 49 homes.

Officials also say fires destroyed nine homes and charred 3,000 acres of Jack County in North Texas.

No injuries were reported in the Texas fires, but some residents had minor, smoke-inhalation injuries and several firefighters were overcome by the heat in Oklahoma.

Officials say 39 homes were destroyed in the Oklahoma City suburbs of Harrah and Choctaw; six were destroyed in Goldsby and four in Shawnee.

Goldsby Emergency Management Director Greg Giltner says residents were allowed to return home after firefighters contained the blaze, which charred about 4,000 acres.

In Texas, officials said the Jack County fire was about 60 percent contained late Friday. About 75 homes were evacuated.
