    Thunderstorms during the month of August are not unusual. Temperatures warm up, humidity levels climb and when a cold front pushes through, we can get storms.

    Having tornadoes in Green Country during the month of August seems more unusual.

    Before Sunday morning's storms rolled through, there had only been 21 tornadoes in all of Green Country during the month of August. That number increased to 25 after there were four tornadoes confirmed from Sunday.

    If you look at all of Oklahoma, there well less than 90 tornadoes in the month of August before Sunday.

    There has only been one fatality from tornadoes in Oklahoma during the month of August. That happened back in 2011 when an EF2 tornado moved through Locust Grove. The damage path was almost three miles long and 400 yards wide.
