• Roof caves in at Pawnee store

    PAWNEE, Okla. - Quick Facts:

    • The roof caved in at the Spears furniture store in Pawnee
    • Around 3 a.m., an officer patrolling the area saw the damage
    • Officers say you can see the roof on the floor through the windows
    • The store owner responded to begin cleanup 

    A weather-related roof collapse damaged thousands of dollars in merchandise. 

    Around 3 a.m., an officer in Pawnee went to the Spears furniture store for a building check. The officer found a quarter of the roof collapsed. 

    FOX23 was the only news team on scene as they learned about a quarter of the roof was damaged. Drains plugged, backing up water on the roof. 

    The weight of the water brought it down, flooding the building in addition to causing roof damage. 

    Most of the items in the store were destroyed, about $50,000 worth of items.
