Pedestrian killed crossing the street near 21st and Sheridan

TULSA, Okla. - A pedestrian is dead after he was hit by a car in east Tulsa, according to police.

Police said the pedestrian, 75, was not using a crosswalk when he crossed the street near 21st and Sheridan.

Officers said the car that hit the pedestrian appears to have been going the speed limit.

They said it is an area of "high-cross pedestrian traffic."

Both 21st Street lanes were blocked off from 68th East Avenue to 67th East Avenue.

People in the area said the lights on 21st Street have been out for a long time, so it is dark in the area.

Police said a younger man was driving the car.
