Muskogee police check in on registered sex offenders before Halloween

MUSKOGEE, Okla. - Quick facts:

  • Muskogee police are doing special compliance checks to make sure families are safe in their area as they head out for Halloween.
  • Police are going door to door checking in on registered sex offenders to make sure they're compliant with their court orders.
  • So far, officers say they've found around 10 of 40 offenders not in compliance.
  • If an offender is not in compliance, he or she could face additional charges.
