In order to determine if an infant has "Shaken Baby Syndrome" you first have to define what that means. Generally, it's defined as bleeding on the brain and in the eyes, and physicians, especially younger ones, have been taught that when you see those two symptoms, it's almost a certainty that the baby has been shaken. But is that true? Recently, the doctor widely considered to be "the father of shaken baby syndrome," Dr. A. Norman Guthkelch does not think that's the case. He has expressed his concerns that doctors are increasingly misdiagnosing "shaking" when infants die of natural causes. He said he is now "horrified" by the way his work is being used to convict the innocent with shaking. http://www.npr.org/2011/06/29/137471992/rethinking-shaken-baby-syndrome He is far from alone on this issue. One of the top infant neuropathologists in the world believes that half or more of all shaken baby cases that have gone to trial have resulted in wrongful convictions. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1382290/At-half-parents-tried-shaken-baby-syndrome-wrongly-convicted-expert-warns.html These are not pseudo-scientists making far-reaching claims. This is the man who wrote the seminal paper, and a pathologist who has spent more than 30 years studying infant brains. Police and prosecutors need to be skeptical when a doctor informs them that a baby's injuries are "consistent with shaking" especially if there are no externally visible signs, nor other internal injuries to the child. A doctor's diagnosis is an opinion, and should be once small piece of a broad investigation. When I hear that these cases have doubled, I also wonder if more innocent people are being accused. http://lawreview.wustl.edu/in-print/the-next-innocence-project-shaken-baby-syndrome-and-the-criminal-courts/

People are under tremendous strain right now, jobs, money trying to pay bills, and the lives of infants has become cheapened now due to the pro-abortionist views shared by much of our country, as the president thinks so thinks the nation....babies lives are not worth much anymore, that is a fact. Sad situation the way people are hurting the most precious and helpless among us, GOD will not allow it to continue much longer, there will be a price for our wickedness, selfishness, cruelty and disregard for those small lives....
