The new Tahlequah Police chief says he will wage war on synthetic marijuana.

Nate King won the election Tuesday night.

King told FOX23’s Dontaye Carter he's already working with different agencies to start going after stores like Outer Zone. It was recently shut down for allegedly selling synthetic marijuana.

"They're hurting our young people at an alarming rate," King said.

He says two people have died this year from the synthetic marijuana in Tahlequah.

King investigated four businesses while working for the sheriff's office. He seized 65 wrappers from a 14-year-old student.

"It can cause permanent brain damage, active psychosis, drug induced psychosis for the rest of their lives and cause their bodies to shut down," he said.

But first King wants to boost morale by building better relationships with officers. He will be sworn in on May 6th.

King is talking about designer drugs that have nothing to do with marijuana, but if he really wanted to get rid of synthetic drugs, he should join the majority of Americans who support marijuana legalization. Terrible things happen when people use Spice or K2, none of which happen when they use marijuana.

I knew a guy in the mid 70's named King who lived in Tahlequah, grew special mushrooms under his house...I liked him, he was amazingly like Kelso on That 70's Show, actually looked a lot like him too now that I think about it, but I don't think his name was Nate, seems like it was D****s, couldn't imagine him being a cop, LOL.

You cant "fight the War on Drugs" without immersing yourself in corruption. If the WOD is the centerpiece of his administration, the people of the county better be prepared to live in the last century.
