Hundreds of gun rights activist held signs and waved flags to support their constitutional rights on Saturday.

Across the country February 23rd was known as the Day of Resistance for those fighting President Obama's 23 executive actions to stop gun violence.

"When you come for my gun, bring yours,” said Phillip Morgan, a Vietnam Veteran. “I'm a law abiding citizen for now."

He was one of more than 200 people at LaFortune Park for the rally. He believes the rights he fought for are in jeopardy.

"I saw young men die. Throughout history we've had people to die for our constitutional rights and our freedoms in this country. It's a slap in the face when you think about the people who gave the ultimate sacrifice," said Morgan.

"We feel like the government as well as the public are trying to infringe on our rights," said Jim Miller, an organizer.

He told FOX23 they understand new safety measures need to be in place in schools but doesn't think changing the gun laws will change anything.

"You can look at the Oklahoma City bombing, Timothy McVeigh never used a weapon, he killed a lot more people than the Colorado theater shooter and Sandy Hooks shooter combined," he said.

They're hoping this event will educate people.

"We're going to fight for what our rights are," said Morgan.
