Saturday, a community will remember three victims in North Tulsa shot and killed on Good Friday last year.

There will be a Service of Remembrance at the Greater Union Baptist Church.

FOX23’s Dontaye Carter spoke with a brother of one of those victims about the challenges of moving forward.

“Bobby was laying up under these street lights,” said his brother Donnie Clark.

He walked us to the spot where he found his brother that night. Clark still remembers it just as it happened.

“I got down to see if I could feel his heart beating but he wasn’t breathing,” he said.

There wasn’t much he could do except call for help.

“The truck must’ve come from this direction,” Clark said pointing down West Denver Avenue at West 63rd Street North. “My friend back here in this second house said heard the car stall. He said he heard the gun shots.”

The shooting killed two other people that night, William Allen and Dannaer Fields. Deon Tucker and  David Hall were wounded by the gunfire. Police arrested Alvin Watts and Jacob England in what they called a racially motivated
shooting. The two are charged with murder and hate crimes.

“It’s a horrible feeling when you lost someone after 56 years it’s hard to let go,” Clark said.

Community leaders hope to help Clark and many other family members heal with the memorial service.

“We are a city that can come together. We are a city when one hurts we do hurt. We are all tied together. Our futures, our destiny are tied together. Really we need each other,” said the Event Coordinator Pastor Warren Blakney.

“I keep him in my prayers,” said Clark. “I hope he’s in a better place.”

The service begins at 3:45 Saturday afternoon.  After the service, there will be a candlelight
vigil walk to Jack’s Memory Chapel where the body of one of the victims was
