Councilor outraged over youth baseball contract

Ram Fan, knowing there may be 70 children pushed to another city to play baseball, then help us understand why didn't 70 parents create an executive board, give themselves a name, register the name with a LLC or non-profit, and volunteer their time to challenge the contract with Champions Baseball? 70 parents showing up at the City of Owasso Council meeting would have brought more than Fox News over a contract that may or may not have violated it's expectations. As we say in baseball, be disappointed at the game, not the players. In this case, I would like to see the 70 parents of these 70 children, organize, and take the high road in the best interest to all Owasso Children that just want to play baseball for the love of the game. We have the technology to encourage parents to get involved with field maintenance, or concession, or fund raising, or tournament weekend, for the love of the game. How bad do they want it? Lastly, when all 70 parents address all 5 city councilors at seperate times, then and only then the City of Owasso, 70 children, and 70 parents, can be included for the love of the game and not profiting. Owasso High School is not looking at children at this level, just have fun learning the art of baseball under flexibility. 70 parents taking their children from Owasso to another city can have a small financial impact as they will buy icecream, meals, ice, drinks, food, from that city they are playing in. That's Owasso's loss, not the 70 parents. Ram Fan if you can rally the troops to make a come back for a legitimate win against Champions Baseball with a questionable back ground, then everyone wins in Owasso. Sad to see even 1 child turned away from the Owasso baseball league, let alone an estimated 70 children. The Faith Based Systems not stepping up to correct the problems in Owasso Youth Baseball as well, in the best interest of the Owasso Child wanting to play ball for the love of the game is not acceptable! Remember, for the love of the game!

This Is about the kids and kids have been turned away by Champions. In the 2 years Champions has held the contract over 70 kids have been turned away and told to find another place to play. These were primarily kids that wanted to play recreational and Champions did not do a draft as they stated they would. Owasso kids should be able to play at their own park and not have to go to another town. Check the USSSA website. They did not increase tournament play in Owasso trifold as stated by City management. In fact, Most of their tournaments did not make. The parents only want what is best for their kids. The problem is City Hall has gotten involved in this issue because of personal issues that should not be brought into a public forum. Champions does not have a board. It is ran by 2 men who have no connection to Owasso and no incentive to work with Owasso businesses. Their only incentive is to make money which is shown on their questionable "financial statement". Mr. Ray has stated that he doesn't want to be in the sports business so why is he so involved now? This decision was not made in the best interests of the kids or the best interests of Owasso.

I'm not part of any of the councilor or any of the names involved. Yes it is a worthy news report as there is contract, taxpayer money, possible violation of expectations of a contract, and what happened to Future Owasso Rams or F.O.R? Owasso youth are moving their opportunities to play ball in Collinsville. I had no idea that Champions Baseball joined with the YMCA in Owasso. Who is the executive board for Champions Baseball and do they have open financial records? Not to present negative light to Mr. Ray or Councilor Ross or Champions Baseball, these are reasonable questions, from a reasonable contract for Owasso Youth Baseball. Lastly, contracts are designed to be easily understood by the reasonable person, no different than the laws we all live under and their perception. Right now the perception is that the City Manager's Office for Owasso and City Council of Owass are at odds over youth baseball because of expectations are not being met. Taxpayers, regardless of affiliations, have the right to question out understanding of the process or protest since the Boston Tea Party. I would like to see Champions Baseball's contract on this Website and their financial records of keeping Owasso Youth in Owasso to Play Ball!

The park is better maintained and the league, both recreational and competitive are better organized. The standard of youth baseball has been risen in Owasso by the efforts of Champions. Champions effort would be more efficient if misinformation, such as this story, spread from past organizers/sympathizers would stop. The real damage to Owasso is coming from the lack of character these individuals (Councilor Ross) are showing. If its about the kids than it should be about the results. News should not be the source of turbulence but a reflection of it, this story is after ratings and not the truth.

Tht Councilor is wrong, plus he isn't very smart either. He is the puppet of the J.B. Alexander aka Roky Balboa. Birds of a feather, you kno the rest.
