Family and hundreds of friends celebrated the life of Mother Grace Tucker on Tuesday.
The pastor and advocate for Tulsa's homeless died at the age of 93. There wasn’t a soul at Victory Christian Center Mother Tucker didn't touch.
Pastors from all across Tulsa spoke out about the impact the mother of 16 made on the city.
"That woman she loved Jesus," said Victory Christian Center Pastor Sharon Daugherty as the funeral began.
Mother Tucker fed and helped the homeless for more than 5 decades. She served 500,000 meals.
"She was a great symbol of compassion for so many people," said her son, Reverend Dole Tucker.
He says she was his inspiration. He'll never forget what she instilled in her children.
"She taught us how to pray," Rev. Tucker said.
It's what helps the family persevere during this very emotional time.
"She finished her fight, she fought a good course. She did what she was supposed to do," said her Grandson Rodney Jones.
Mother Tucker won the "Jefferson Award" back in 2007 for ordinary people who do extraordinary things.
Tucker started her homeless ministry out of her thrift store in 1975.
