UPDATE: Police say the 11-year-old girl involved in the hostage situation has escaped from the home, and is now safe.
Tulsa Police are on the scene of a hostage situation in north Tulsa.
It's happening in the 5000 block of north Utica, where police say known felon Allen Shields has barricaded himself inside a home, along with a 11-year-old girl.
Police say Shields may have threatened the girl, and now cops are talking with him, trying to get him to come out of the home.
The Special Operations Team is on the scene along with the bomb squad.
Shields has a long criminal history with TPD, and has been arrested dozens of times, in connection with several high-profile cases.
