OHP responded early Tuesday morning to a crash on I-244 westbound between Highway 11 and Memorial.

Troopers say it was a head-on collision. The driver was going the wrong way for at least 1/2 a mile, and hit an SUV and a truck. The people in the SUV and truck are okay, they did not need to be taken to the hospital.

The wrong-way driver was taken to the hospital, but troopers with OHP expect her to be okay, which they say is amazing given the damage to her car.

Gary Snow was behind the wheel of the truck that got hit. He says she came out of no-where and was heading right towards him. He tried to avoid her, but couldn't. The two vehicles hit, which sent the woman's small black car spinning.

OHP is still investigating why she heading the wrong direction.

Spin the car 8-] That could be a new exciting Okielympic event. Drunk drivers are fearless in their pursuit of ignorance. When they sober up they ask themselvs, "did I do thaaaat?" Manufacture an automobile that already has a drunk interlock directly connected to a computer that is on board. Save a lot of grief. Use retinascopy for anti-theft. Makes the industry more responsible to the motoring public with that ounce of prevention.

I passed a car going the wrong way in the eastbound exit ramp from I-244 to HWY 11 one time. They did not even slow down as I passed them on the right shoulder of the one way ramp. People just do not pay attention these days to the signs. Either they are on the phone or just got their head up their butt. I used to think it was the teenagers that were dangerous, these days it is the 40-60 years olds that are dangerous. They can barely operate an iphone at home on the couch, let alone while driving.
