The Woody Guthrie Center will kick off a book drive to support Tulsa Educare from Dec. 1-19, patrons who bring in a new preschool book can save $3 off regular admission.

All books collected will be donated to preschool students at Tulsa Educare so that each student can receive the gift of reading.

“The holidays are approaching and students will be on break soon,” said Becky Hawkes, Education and Public Programs Manager at the Woody Guthrie Center. “During this time, we hope that spreading the joy of reading will bring parents and children together.”

Tulsa Educare focuses on breaking the cycle of poverty through early childhood education programs. Each school serves 140-200 children and families with all-day, year-round early childhood education, family support services and ongoing medical care.

The Woody Guthrie Center is also accepting donations from those who can’t make it to the center. It has an Amazon Wish List set up for Educare.

To donate, go to www.amazon.com/wishlist and search for the Woody Guthrie Center.

Donated books will be delivered to Educare on Thursday, Dec. 19, just in time for children to have during the holiday break.
