A woman was shot early Tuesday while fighting off an intruder in a south Tulsa apartment.
Around 12:30am police were called to the Stonegate Village apartments near 71st & Memorial. The victim says she heard a knock at the door, she answered it, but only opened the door a crack. The man on the other side asked for someone who was not there, then tried to force his way in. She fought back, grabbing the gun and trying to push him away.
The man fired two shots, the woman was hit in the finger, then the gunman ran off. Three women and four children were also inside the apartment, they were not hurt. Police do not have a good suspect description.
Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
