A woman was killed in a crash early Friday morning in Sapulpa.

It happened at the intersection of west 81st Street and New Sapulpa Road in Sapulpa around 1:00am.

Sapulpa Police say a man driving a red Honda Fit ran a red light and crashed into the driver's side of a Toyota Camry. The woman driving the car was killed.

The speed limit on the road is 60 miles an hour, but police say the driver of the Honda was likely going faster than that. Fire crews had to cut part of the woman's car apart to free her, but she did not survive.

The man in the Honda was taken to the hospital. Police do not believe alcohol was involved in the crash.
