Aimee Johnson invited FOX23 cameras into her garage, but never encouraged anyone to sit down.

Her newest furniture is off limits.

“We’re going to have to get rid of it,” said Johnson.

Her secondhand couch and matching chair were moved out of the house after Johnson said her son’s doctor explained a series of rashes on her son’s arms and legs.

“I thought he was getting chicken pox,” said Johnson.

Instead, she said she gave Fantasy Furniture $250 for the furniture and a nest of bed bugs.

“As a business man, I can’t take the furniture back,” said Fantasy Furniture owner Walter Lock.

Lock said once you take whatever you’ve bought out of the store- it’s yours- no returns.

“I can tell you it’s impossible to have bed bugs in this store,” said Lock.

Lock said regular deep steam cleanings prevent the possibility of bed bugs. After inviting FOX23 inside his store, our crew was shown a set of tags attached to each piece of furniture- indicating everything had been properly sanitized.

Johnson said she has made multiple attempts to work with Fantasy Furniture to exchange the furniture. However, she said she said whoever answered her calls was not helpful.

“After I gave her my address she said there’s no way in hell they’ll come to Bristow to pick it up,” said Johnson.

Johnson said she posted a warning about the store on Craigslist. Johnson said Lock threatened to sue her for damaging the store’s reputation.

Lock told FOX23 that he didn’t want the negative attention, so he’ll consider giving Johnson a refund.

You can safely buy used furniture if you treat it with Greenbug - a safe, natural pest control product that kills bed bugs plus their eggs. This stuff works using Nature's powerful yet safe ingredients. I highly recommend it!

It is difficult to prove where the bed bugs came from. The best decision for the customer is to immediately stop bed bug bites even though there are thousands of bed bugs in house. The video shows how to immediately solve bed bug problem with efficiency much higher than exterminators. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTdOxn9MoPg

Think about it. Its a used furniture store. People sell their furniture to this place because they do NOT want it anymore. This store probably buys anything and everything that people bring to them, at dirt cheap prices. They turn around and sell the items with ZERO warranty and ZERO returns/refunds. If you want a nice piece of furniture without any bed bugs, expect to pay more than couple hundred bucks.

One must take into account when buying used furniture. When it says, "NO Returns", I think I would turn right around and walk out the door. They obviously aren't too worried about customer satisfaction. Furniture Factory outlet, and other outlet stores, sell cheaper new furniture (with warranty). Maybe cost a little more than used furniture, but you get what you pay for, and in this case, the bed bugs were free of charge. :)

"Fantasy" is a good name for the store as well as for the story. Could a store that sells used furniture have bed bugs? Sure. Could the lesions on the customer's child be from bed bug bites? Sure again. BUT, there was no mention of anyone finding a bed bug on the furniture or anywhere else. Those lesions could just as easily have resulted from other causes unrelated to the furniture. Even if bed bugs were found at the customer's home, it would be difficult to prove they derived from the furniture. So, there are many presumptions flying about, but few facts. Take home message? Folks should find a bona fide bed bug before they proclaim that bed bugs are the cause of bites. Educational information about bed bug biology, means to identify bed bugs and strategies to reduce risks, can be found at https://identify.us.com. Richard Pollack, PhD

My daughter and I looked at a crib there, the stuff looked really dirty, can believe they came from there. Bought a piece of furniture from the shop on the corner of Harvard and Admiral had bed bugs all over it, threw it out after they bit my son all over. Never had another problem with them after that, guess they didn't have time to disperse I threw it out the next day, cost over $200.00, didn't feel like arguing with the Middle Easterners who ran the shop, ashamed that I was dumb enough to buy from that place I figured I would just take the loss and leave it alone.
