A drive-by shooting rattled people in midtown Tulsa overnight Wednesday.

Police are still searching for the gunmen that fired shots at a car parked at a Phillips 66 near 31st and Yale around 1 a.m.

Two men who were not involved in the shooting followed the gunmen through midtown, at one point going 120 mph on the expressway.

Police said they followed them until they crashed their car, hopped the barrier and ran into the woods.

Police said the gunmen tried to do a drug deal with the victims. When they weren't interested, the gunmen shot at their car, causing a flat tire, then took off in their silver Chevy Malibu.

Police spent more than an hour searching the woods for the gunmen, even bringing out a K-9 unit and the helicopter.

Later, the two witnesses found a shotgun they said one the gunmen used at the gas station.

Police say those two men were a big help, without them they wouldn't have known where to start searching, but they also put their lives in danger.

Police say if you're a witness to a crime the best thing to do is try and gather information and get a good description of the gunmen to tell police.
