A Tulsa mother’s son was murdered in Tulsa more than a decade ago and she is not the only one convinced someone knows who shot and killed Allen George in 2001.
"It is very frustrating that someone knows about this and they don't want to come forward,” says Jo Ella George.
The cold case murder of her son dates back to July 31st, 2001, nine days later he died at the hospital.
Police believe the killer is now behind bars, Vysean Embry, 28.
They also believe they know who witnessed the killing.
Allen George was 31 when he was killed. He was one of ten children and the middle child.
However, ten years and six months is how long police believe Markeit Williams, 29, has stayed quiet about a murder.
"If he would just come forth and just tell what he knows he was there and he saw it all,” says Allen’s mother Jo Ella George.
Detectives believe Williams witnessed Embry shoot George in the head over money owed.
"It's a senseless thing that happened that didn't have to happen,” says George.
After all this time his mother has found a way to cope.
"Lord whoever it was, forgive them for they not know what they do,” says Jo Ella.
Embry was arrested on August 10th, 2001 but charges were dropped two months later after the key witness, Markeit Williams, wouldn’t cooperate.
In late July 2011 Embry was charged again and police issued a material witness warrant for Williams.
George’s mother hope this time the case will go to trial.
"I wish they would come forward and tell what they know, so we can get justice done,” says George.
Prison records show Williams is on probation after getting a 10-year sentence in a case of drug trafficking.
Embry was only 17 when he was first charged with George’s murder since charges were dropped.
Prison records show he spent less than two years of a five year sentence in prison for drugs, assault and false impersonation.
"I know that justice will be done. I don't know how long it will take but it will,” says
George.
It’s a similar plea in a case where the killer has not been brought to justice in a 2008 murder case.
Jermaine Nickerson was gunned down at the Windsong apartments.
"I just want to know. I want to know,” said Nickerson’s mother Mattie Anderson in a 2010 interview with FOX23 News.
The suspect, Arnelious Howell, 31, has been charged four times for Nickerson’s murder and witnesses told police what happened but never took the stand so charges were dropped.
"My soul will not rest until I keep on fighting for justice for my son,” says Anderson.
More recently, murder charges were dropped against two known gang members accused of killing Shawn Hatcher in 2010.
Witnesses changed their story and Kadrian Daniels, 19, and Colin Profit, 19, were released from custody.
Crime Stoppers encourages people to come forward without fear of revealing their identity.
Those tips can also be used in court and the witness never be called to the stand.
