Homicide detectives have made an arrest in the fatal motel shooting in north Tulsa.

Keelan Smallwood and William Rush were both wanted for questioning in the October 13th shooting. At 4pm, Thursday, Smallwood was found and arrested on warrants and booked into Tulsa County Jail.

Police have named William Rush as a primary person of Interest in this investigation.

TPD said that Johnson and Rush were acquainted with each other and entered into a dispute in the parking lot on Sunday, which led to the fatal shooting.

Tulsa police responded to a shooting call at the corner of Admiral Street and 89th East Avenue around 8:20 p.m. Sunday.

The victim was found dead when officers and emergency responders arrived at the Tonight Inn and Suites Motel. FOX23 was live at the scene to uncover the details.

Police told FOX23 they were able to speak to witnesses who heard three or four gunshots but were unsure of where the shots originated from.

As the investigation continued, police identified a residence near the motel that was associated with the homicide. Surveillance was maintained on the residence and around 4:10 p.m. Thursday, homicide detectives recovered a handgun believed to be the murder weapon.

Homicide detectives are prepared to question and arrest Rush in connection with this slaying and are asking Rush to turn himself in to police. Tulsa police caution those that have provided comfort or aid to Rush after knowledge that he is connected to this homicide; they are subjecting themselves to arrest.
