Thank you for this story and for your good work. We need to continue to raise the awareness of the public about lead ammo and the hideous damage it causes. Hunting is not the problem nor is fishing. The problem is the continued use of lead ammo and lead fishing tackle. Lead is poison. To the naysayers below, there is a wealth of science regarding the problem and yes, blood tests are always done to make sure of the cause and if lead poisoning, the extent of lead in the system. There is chelatin therapy available, but not always effective. If you want to learn more, just google up Lead Poisoning in Eagles and you will be amazed and, I hope, moved to simply stop using lead ammo. There are very good alternative ammos being manufactured, steel and copper among them. Lee, I hope that you will take the time to bring yourself up to date on this issue. It is one of those problems with a pretty easy solution available.

If the eagle had been poisoned it could have eaten anything, not necessarily lead.

Did they conduct blood tests to determine there was lead poisoning or did they just make that up?
