The Tulsa Fire Department says a fire killed a dog and destroyed a detached garage on Friday morning.

The fire started around 8:45 near N. 37th and West Archer. The fire destroyed a three vehicle detached garage. One stray dog was killed in the fire. Firefighters say the fire was accidental.

They say on cold nights the homeowner turns on a light bulb for his dogs in the garage for them to stay warm. Something short circuited with the light bulb starting the fire.
