The Tulsa County Health Department confirms mosquitoes found in the area between 61st and 71st and Sheridan and Memorial have tested positive for the West Nile Virus.

The health department has been trapping and testing mosquitoes throughout Tulsa every week.  Friday morning tests came back positive for the south Tulsa area.

West Nile can cause abdominal pain, fever, headaches and rashes among other symptoms.

Crews will use an enhanced pesticited either Friday night or Monday morning to spray the area and kill the infected mosquitoes.

Officials say the mosquito problems this summer haven't been as bad as previous years, they've seen a 90% drop in complaint calls.
