West 71st Street between U.S. Highway 75 and the Arkansas River will open to four-lane traffic on Friday.
It should open by 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1. The speed limit also will change back to 45 miles per hour.
During the holiday season, the contractor will work on sidewalks, and curb lanes will be closed intermittently one at a time during that work.
Some work on the project remains to be completed on West 71st Street near the Arkansas River. In January 2014, street work and lane closures will resume at that location, with completion of the project scheduled for April 2014.
Street rehabilitation on West 71st Street between U.S. 75 and the Arkansas River has been in progress since January. The City of Tulsa has contracted with APAC Central for this $2.9 million Fix Our Streets project, funded by the 2008 General Obligation Bond Issue.
