Wells Fargo is donating 18 properties and $135,000 to help revitalize north Tulsa.

The donation will be used to revitalize abandoned buildings in the Greenwood area. Wells Fargo worked with seven local non-profits and public officials to create more affordable and sustainable housing in north Tulsa.

Representative Jabar Shumate praised the donation saying; "Wells Fargo is to be commended and praised for working with my office and North Tulsa non-profit organizations and churches to put 18 needy families in our community in homes at no charge. This represents the single-largest gift of homes direct to families in north Tulsa history."

"One of North Tulsa's greatest challenges is home ownership," Shumate said. "Wells Fargo's actions today provide an important example of how the corporate community can partner with disadvantaged communities to spur home ownership and community revitalization."

The donation will allow 18 families to live in homes that had previously been abandoned.
