Due to a winter storm in the eastern part of the United States, people are altering their flight plans.

FOX23 News found out from workers at Tulsa International Airport that at least three flights, which were regularly scheduled to arrive by 10 p.m. Friday, were delayed until 1 a.m. Saturday.

Workers also told FOX23 that at least one flight that was scheduled to arrive at 4:30 p.m. was cancelled.

FOX23 spoke with several people waiting for flights and those who were returning to Tulsa after their holiday vacation.

One woman told FOX23 that she tried to avoid delays due to bad weather by flying out of Phoenix, but says she still was delayed for nearly 24 hours.

The passenger told FOX23 that workers at Southwest Airlines were doing all they could to get everyone home.

Those returning to Tulsa told FOX23 that this wasn't their ideal plan for the first days of 2014, but they are just happy to be home.
