A Sand Springs man is making national headlines after being accused of running a "revenge porn" website.
Tulsa Police arrested Casey Meyering Thursday for warrants out of California.
He's accused of posting explicit pictures of people without their permission.
Our FOX23 crew dug a little deeper into the case Saturday.
We spoke with Meyering's neighbors, who told FOX23 they are in shock.
"That's just invading other people's privacy. It's just... gross." said Damian Kopler, Meyering’s neighbor.
Kopler can't think of one reason why someone would want to run a "revenge porn" website."You hear about it on the movies," he said.
That's why Kopler was surprised when we told him his neighbor is accused of just that.
"It’s crazy. It just really makes you think about who's is living right next door," Kopler said.
Court records show it was all about money.
The California attorney general said Meyering posted over 400 provocative pictures of people without their knowledge.
Records show some of the photos were given to Meyering by exes wanting revenge.
But others were taken from people's computers.
"One victim was sending photographs to her husband who was serving our country in the military overseas," said Attorney General Kamala Harris.
On top of that, Harris said Meyering made those victims pay at least $250 apiece to remove the pictures.
It was a non-existent Beverly Hills address and Meyering’s bank account that led agents to him to Green Country.
We went to Meyering’s house in Sand Springs Saturday. A car was in the driveway but no one answered at the front door.
Kopler had seen Meyering several times but he hopes he never sees him again.
"He was just sitting on his porch smoking a cigarette.
... I’m glad he's out of the neighborhood for now. I guess we'll just have to wait and see," said Kopler.
Court records show the website was www.winbystate.com.
We tried to go to the site today and got nothing but error messages.
Meyering is charged with five counts of felony extortion and is being held without bond in Tulsa while California works to extradite him.
While Meyering does have a Sand Springs address, that's not where Tulsa police found him.
They arrested him Thursday at the Trade Winds motel, near 51st Street and Harvard Avenue.
