City crews have been at 21st and Riverside since about 2 Friday afternoon trying to get to the water break.

The break forced crews to block traffic from exiting onto northbound Riverside from 21st.

With two major water main breaks on Friday, crews were busy. A car tried to drive through the water along northbound Riverside and got stuck.

Water was gushing out alongside a hill on the road all afternoon. FOX23 found out the break is a 16in break and that break can be pretty serious.

Before they crews can dig to the break they have to get the water to stop flowing and the areas has to be cleared and checked before they dig.

Crews told FOX23 it could take up to 16 hours to fix, depending on what the line looks like when they start digging. City officials say they are working as fast as they can to get this part of town reopened.
